Untitled Document

Each Memorial day weekend picturesque downtown Edmonds is transformed with a bit of New Orleans' Bourbon-street swing by the Rotary Club of Edmonds Daybreakers and the best student musicians from around Puget Sound.  More than just a jazz festival,
Edmonds Jazz Connection is more is community event bringing together talented students, professional musicians and the music loving community through Puget Sound.

Our Performers
More than 20 groups representing high schools, community colleges and middle schools throughout Puget Sound and Washington will be performing a variety of vocal, big band and small combo jazz in non-competitive atmosphere encouraging improvisation and enjoyment of music for the performers and audience.

An Encore For The Community
Many of these groups, spend the Spring going from competition to competition being judged and scored... however at EJC it's time for them to relax and play an encore for their families, friends and neighbors before they wrap up their academic year.

In addition, each year we invite professional jazz musicians to host jam sessions where students can play with and learn from their mentors.

Supporting School Music Programs
The Rotary Club of Edmonds uses all proceeds from the event to support our community school music programs. From helping groups attend regional and national festivals and competitions to simply provide new instruments and equipment to elementary, middle and high schools - we make sure our communities school music programs continue to thrive even when budgets are tight.

If you'd like to support these efforts, please do any of the following:
  • Become A Patron by providing a donation of $25, $50, $100 or more.
  • Buy A Raffle Ticket prior to the event (or during the event - if they're not sold out).
  • Make a donation during the day of the event.
Tickets?
The Rotary of Club Edmonds Daybreakers works together with great community sponsors like Terwedo Financial Services, HomeStreet Bank, Hazel Miller Foundation and others to underwrite the cost the event and make it free to all who want to enjoy the wonderful music.  Though, since our proceeds support great school music programs, we provide opportunities and encourage a donation of any size.
